My New Normal

I'm so thankful for great drugs, technology, a comfy bed, and a ward family and friends who love me and my family so much to serve us in our time of need.

Its rough, and frankly pretty boring, "resting" day in and day out, but it makes it a little easier with the comforts mentioned above.  Hopefully the next few weeks will go by super fast and I continue to heal at such a rapid pace, so I can be back to serving others instead of having them serve me.

A visit to the Ortho brings good news...

Its been a rough couple of days figuring out how to move at all with 2 broken legs.  We have been through 2 wheel chairs trying to get on that will fit into the bathroom, and still the door frames are 2 skinny.  I have had to shimmy down the bathroom counter with applying as little of pressure as possible to the foot the hurts the least.   SOOO thankful for the tender mercy of my mom already being here this week to help.

After a painful trip down the back porch and over all the rough terrain we call a yard I made it to the van an onto the Orthopedic Doctor for a follow up visit and a final diagnosis.

After reviewing the xray Cd and an exam of his own it is determined I in fact do NOT have a fracture on my left foot as previously determined (I was told it was classified as a fracture as the tendons had pulled bone away)  But just a serious sprain that would need a brace for a few days, but I am allowed to put pressure on it. Halleluiah!!  And the Right is indeed a fracture in my fibula but it is a clean break and will heal without surgery.  It does not require a full cast but a walking boot that I will be able to use it as I feel ready and with crutches.

And the very best part, I can take showers!!  I am able to remove the book and brace.  Praise the Heavens!!  It's the best news!

Princess E immediately got a stomach ache at the thought of not having the wheelchair to play on after a few weeks.  But King J and I are so thankful and know it is a direct result of our faith on prayer and the power of priesthood blessings.

Its still a very long recovery, and I require loads of time in bed and allowing others to serve me.  But I am so thankful for this tender mercy.

And....I finally found the time to catch up on this blog. :)

Fall Break Continued....

So I have a whole new meaning to the words, Fall Break.  Upon leaving our cute little cabin this morning I decided to be Super Woman and carry way to much down to the car wearing my flip flops and when I got to the sloped concrete landing there in the picture I decided to have a nice              "Fall Break."

After figuring out how to actually get me to the car (crawling through the pain backwards) a short 30 minute drive to the nearest ER, X rays and doctors examinations, it was concluded I had 2 broken legs/ankles. How in the freakin world am I going to make it the next 6 weeks?????

Fall Break Get Away

My mom called a few months ago and said she was planning a visit out to see us and she waned King J and I to take a few days and go on a mini vacation.  That she wanted alone time with the girls. At first we told her we would love for her to visit and to spend the time with us, but King J needed to work.  But as the weeks went on we decided it would be a fantastic time to get away.  So we booked a cute little cabin in the Smokey Mtns right on the outskirts of Gatlinburg Tn.  The place we spent our honeymoon 11 years ago.

The drive was absolutely breath taking.  It was 4 hours of complete awe at Heavenly Fathers handy work.  We had to stop a few times at viewing areas just to take it all in.
When we got there we settled in to the cute little cabin and spent the next 2 days just being together and revisiting some of the places we went 11 years ago.  Main street shops, Hard Rock CafĂ©, Rippleys Believe it or Not Museum and riding the Trolley and spending time in the hot tub. :)

I sure love this Guy.  We sure make a cute couple!
So thankful to Grandma who let us get away without worrying about the kids.

Final Tributes

It is always such an honor to do the final tributes.  Its always so bitter sweet.

It also reminds me how much I miss it, and how absolutely talented I am with flowers.

Science Project Time

The girls have been working hard on their science projects. Princess E did an amazing job on her animal cell and Princess M had a great time creating her solar powered smores maker.
